Every reason to incorporate Flaxseeds/Linseeds into your daily diet...

For centuries, flaxseeds have been prized for their health-protective properties.

In fact, Charles the Great ordered his subjects to eat flaxseeds for their health. So it is no wonder they acquired the name Linum usitatissimum, meaning "the most useful."

Nowadays, flaxseeds are emerging as a "super food" as more scientific research points to their health benefits.

There are two types, brown and golden, which are equally nutritious.

A typical serving size for ground flaxseeds is 1 tablespoon (7 grams) only 37 calories!

Just one tablespoon provides a good amount of protein, fibre and omega-3 fatty acids, in addition to being a rich source of some vitamins and minerals.

Oat Bran is important nutrient on the famous Dr Dukan diet

Oat bran is an important part of the Dukan program because it is high in a soluble fiber called beta-D-glucan.   This high soluble fibre content makes oat bran the dieter’s friend as it not only helps combat constipation, it also makes you feel full and satisfied and can prevent the absorption of up to 10% of the fat that you eat.

Eating oat bran on a regular basis is also likely to meet with the approval of your doctor as research has shown that the regular consumption of oat bran can lower cholesterol, even out the fluctuations in blood sugar levels and may also help prevent some forms of cancer.
