ARE YOU WEARING THE RIGHT SKIRT LENGTH?

The length of skirt you choose to wear should be based on your height. If in doubt, go for the golden rule. ‘The longer the skirt the shorter you look, the shorter the skirt the taller you look’.

This means that if you are 5’4”/163cm or shorter, you best suit skirts that sit on the knee or above. Skirts to the ankle will only make you appear shorter and often frumpy. If you really prefer longer skirts then ensure they are at least one or two inches higher then your ankle to provide the illusion of height.

If you are between 5’4”/163cm and 5’7”/170cm you look best in skirts that finish on the knee to mid-calf. Once again, a long skirt will make you look frumpy and old: please try to show at least a little ankle if you prefer long skirts.

If you are 5’7”/170cm or taller you look elegant in long skirts to the ankle. While you can look sexy in short skirts they will often make your leg look even longer, making you taller still!!! Sometimes that is not a bad thing- super sexy!!! -:)
