I have suffered form Endometriosis from my first period at 14 years of age, but in those days they didn't know what it was. I remember vividly my mother having to come and pick me up from a Youth camp as I was in so much pain, and once when our family went on holiday, as soon as we arrived at the motel I rushed to the toilet to vomit. The pain never let up...it came every month without fail!
I never used it as an excuse not to go to work or do anything, I suffered through it with little or no painkillers as they didn't alleviate the pain...some say that having a baby alleviates it, but that is not true. I had my one and only child James at 20 years and then had several miscarriages after that due to the endometriosis.
I just accepted that this is what is was like to have a period, debilitating pain so that I could hardly walk...my mother used to say to me, "It is not meant to be like this, go to the Dr", as my sister Michelle and Mum never suffered like this. I occasionally mentioned it my Dr but nothing was ever done.
I eventually found some sort of relief from my then beauty therapist Jillian who suggested I have a bath with some essential oils, rose, geranium and lavender oils...often in the middle of the night I would be sitting in the bath for hours as this really did help.
My family never thought to bring me a cup of tea or coffee when I would be comatose in my bed for hours...they just accepted as this is what happened to me once a month.
In my late 30s it become so bad I would collapse at fashion shows and even boarding a plane back from Sydney and be rushed to hospital...they still thought it was everything from appendicitis (which I only had out a few months ago, but that is another story) to a blood disorder.
So at 40 years of age I finally had a laparoscopy and I was astonished to find out I had severe endometriosis, that had glued all organs together and wrapped itself around my bowel like a rubber band causing holes in my bowel...I was rushed into emergency surgery and had a complete hysterectomy and part of my bowel removed, they used 2 different surgeons at the one time, (best thing I have ever done, no more pain, hooray!).
As the scar tissue has thickened around my bowel I have to take medication to make my bowel move each day, thus the Fibre Scoops that most people will take with his 30 day Detox Diet do not work for me. But they are essential for others as it is most important to clean your bowels out daily off all and any toxins.
So what did I eat yesterday on my Detox Diet...
5am: Chocolate Meal Replacement, which I really do like, it is so delicious!!
8am: Cup of Herbal Tea
10am: FIZZ drink for extra energy (love this!!!)
12noon: Vanilla Meal Replacement with a scoop of greens, which gives me heaps of anti-oxidants that keeps me looking and feeling younger
4pm: Cup of Herbal Tea
6pm: Dinner; beautiful huge bowl of hearty vegetable soup that my son James made for me...Yum! Yum! Yum!!!)
BE the BEST that YOU can BE!
BE Positively Fabulous!
Love & Light
